Welcome to Purrfectly Balanced Counseling! I am Nataliya, and I am happy to share information about me and services that I provide. I am a Certified Level 1 TEAM-CBT therapist, Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), Certified Acceptance and Commitment Therapist, and a Certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapist.
I also received credential in Animal Assisted Therapy. My therapy animal is a 3-year-old Sphynx cat Lambert “Lio”. Animal-assisted interventions, sometimes referred to as therapy animal visits, are an opportunity for some clients at this facility. As defined by Pet Partners, animal-assisted interventions (AAI) are interactions that intentionally incorporate animals for the purpose of improved health and well-being. Research demonstrates that AAI can promote improvement in human physical, social, emotional, and/or cognitive functioning. This means that the handler/animal team have completed education and have been evaluated to possess adequate skills, aptitude and temperament for such work. In order to obtain Pet Partners registration, extensive and ongoing training and temperament testing is required of the therapy animal team. Pet Partners also requires a standard of grooming and veterinary care to minimize the risks of illness or injury from interactions.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Imago Therapy, REBT (Rational-Emotive Behavioral Therapy), ACT, Gestalt Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with elements of Mindfulness and focusing techniques in my counseling approach. My goal is to identify the problem that you need help with and develop a plan to achieve this goal. My professional experience includes working at a wide range of mental health settings such as outpatient mental health agencies, high schools, community colleges, and government agencies.
I love life and people for all the infinite sources of joy, discovery, and emotion that we all share in the human experience. There is so much beauty, love, and kindness if we can only remember how to see it with an open heart and seek to connect with others through love, kindness, and gratitude in our thoughts and in our actions.
My qualifications include the completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from NC State University. Also, I am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I speak fluent Russian and Ukrainian languages.
I specialize in adult and child therapy. My focus is to provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment where you can express yourself in the freeway.
